Drs. Sherry & Ralph Opacic

Sherry & Ralph met and fell in love while they were both completing their Doctorates of Education at the University of Southern California. They are Dancing for Tomorrow’s Stars first married couple to compete in the event.

Sherry is the director of the Institute for Leadership Development at the Orange County Department of Education where she oversees credentialing and professional development programs for new teachers, principals, school personnel directors, chief business officers and superintendents.

Ralph is the founder and executive director of Orange County High School of the Arts (OCHSA), which has been recognized as one of the finest arts high schools in the country. Under Ralph’s leadership, OCHSA has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, a California Distinguished school and has been honored by the Kennedy Center and Grammy Foundation.

Sherry and Ralph have four beautiful daughters, a wonderful son-in–law and a perfect two and half year-old grandson. They are both honored (and a little terrified) to be dancing in support of Assistance League of Newport-Mesa and thank their family, friends and colleagues for their enthusiastic support.
