ABOUT US

Assistance League of Newport-Mesa, a chapter of National Assistance League, began in 1940 in Newport Beach with a small group of women wanting to make a difference in the lives of children.  Today, we are the third largest chapter in the national organization.  Our four philanthropic programs are completely self-funded through grants, endowments, fund raising events and proceeds from our on-site shops.

The Newport-Mesa chapter of dedicated volunteers give approximately 40,000 hours of service each year to keep the programs operational. Our programs helped over 11,000 children in the Costa Mesa and Newport Beach communities just in the last year.

The philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Newport-Mesa, the Cheri Harris Children's Dental Health Center, Operation School Bell®, Kids on the Block®, and Community Outreach Program, are staffed by member volunteers and funded through proceeds from our Thrift Shop, Treasures on Consignment, fundraising events, grants, endowments and private donations.
